Austrian Powder
In this super dry season from the south side of the Alps if you want to find snow you have to go north… and so far the reasoning does not make a turn… but where to go?
Looking at the various weather conditions, the epicenter of the storm is in Austria. they speak of it as a “perfect storm”, a real snowfall record similar to the historic winter of a few years ago here in the Dolomites… how to forget it…
Then a moment of organization and let’s go, we start hunting for powder!
It starts in the direction of Innsbruck with the aim of going to the Zillertal valley.
The real epicenter would be further east on the border with Germany but the news that reaches us speaks of so much snow that the streets, plants, schools, shops are all closed. The Zillertal valley is the most appropriate choice: close enough to the epicenter and easily accessible
It seems impossible to start from Cortina with daisies on the meadows and after less than two hours being submerged by the snow… already from the Brenner Pass the white magic begins and as you go into Innsbruck it increases exponentially
to accompany me in these fantastic days of “diving” there were Sara, Silvietta, Carlotta, Cesare, Betta, Niko, Matte, Gigio, Simon, Tazio, Plona and the legendary Bassot
