Climb the Dent Blanche along the Wandfluegrat

High pressure continues to reign in the Alps. A paradise for mountaineering and a unique opportunity to continue climbing.
After the Zinalrothorn always in company with James and John the time has come for the wonderful Wandfluegrat, the normal route along the south ridge of Dent Blanche.
We started with the calm of a cloudless sky from Ferpècle and after the beauty of six long hours under the scorching sun we finally arrive at the Cabane de la Dent Blanche. It takes half a liter of coca cola and a liter and a half of water each to take us back from the labors.

The alarm clock as usual was at embarrassing hours, but I must say that in this super summer of work away from the Dolomites I got used to it and I almost start having fun.

We get to the grande Gendarme (4098m) before seeing the first rays of the sun and begin to warm our hands on the wonderful granite that leads to the top

Dent Blanche (4357m) is a wonderful mountain, perhaps not as famous as the Matterhorn but it is undoubtedly a splendid mountain and has nothing to envy. Much less crowded, without fixed ropes or cable cars that facilitate the climb and far from everything and everyone. It manages to keep intact that ideal of purity now so far from many other corners of our Alps.
